Quick, Cute and Easy Presents!

I realise now that this post is way too late to be relevant for Christmas anymore... But it's never too early to start stocking up ideas for next Christmas right?! (And let's not forget all the pesky birthdays in between!)

This year I suddenly realised that I was a poor student who suddenly had twice as many people to find gifts for, so here's a quick list of some cheap but still super cute gifts I managed to rustle up!

Pocket Pikmin

So Christmas has been and gone now - which should mean the panic has just about subsided, because the pre-present era of shopping/finding/wrapping/ribboning/labelling ETC. is stressful as heck. Especially because there are always those people who never want anything.
My brother, is not one of those people however. He wants everything; from a golden toilet to a rocket. So naturally I can still have a little trouble finding him gifts. This year I found a couple of cute tiny jars which made me think of Pikmin 3, a video game (that the brother is obsessed with) from a series of Pikmin games (which he is also obsessed with) where, as a stranded rocket ship captain you have to use the help of these cute little creatures named 'Pikmin' to help you find fruits to juice and use to rebuild the food supplies of your home planet.
The brother enjoyed juicing fruits and putting them in jars and then not drinking them because he didn't like the flavours, but he enjoys himself. While I could not make him a rocket ship for Christmas, I could make him some felty Pikmin and put them into little juice jars. :)

Teacher Thank-Yous! (Kawaii parcels~)

So hopefully you have all realised by now that I adore kawaii things! (If not, SHAME ON YOU!) so here's a little kawaii-crafty (sort of) present that is easy to make, not too expensive (especially if you have a lot of teachers like me!) and looks great!
~I'll admit, my college finished for the summer rather early, so I did, in fact give these on the second to last day.~

Gengar~

So in order to feed my Pokémon love I decided I'd attempt to make a few of my favourites in plush form, (I've actually already made quite a few as presents so I'll have to share them at a later date!) I'm in the process of making a Growlithe (which I embarrassingly enough called an Arcanine for a while until somebody stopped me..) But for now I have a finished Gengar!

So anyway, I got myself some felt, put on a good old boxset to watch and got stuck in. It's not the best quality, but it's personal and I'm actually pretty proud of it. :)

Mother's Day

I usually try and make presents as personal as I can, whether it's buying something silly that evokes a past memory or making/getting something that is tailored to a person's interests. So this Mother's Day my mum asked for socks as a present, (no, not flowers or chocolates, socks.) As some of you may know by her fabulous blog: http://socklet.co.uk/ she has a fantastic talent for making cute sock-creatures. I then found a Moomin notebook Waterstones as a lovely surprise! Finally I made a character called Snufkin out of various material (funnily enough I had the idea of making him before finding the notebook as he's also a Moomin character,) and wrote a vintage looking letter thanking my mum for looking after her small adventurers and sealed it with wax. All in all, a very enjoyable day! :)
